Easy One Pot Stovetop Lasagna: a simple, no-mess, one-pot meal boosted with nourishing bone broth collagen.
Goodbye summer — hello cozy fall flavors. When the air turns crisp, nothing beats a steaming pot on the stove. This One Pot Stovetop Lasagna delivers all the warmth and comfort of traditional lasagna but with fewer steps, less cleanup, and added nutrition from bone broth collagen.
Oven Lasagna v. Stovetop Lasagna
Classic lasagna usually involves browning the sauce on the stove and baking assembled layers in the oven. It’s delicious, but it can leave you with a sink full of pots, a messy stove, and extra time spent in the kitchen.
This stovetop version skips the oven entirely. Everything cooks in one large pot or Dutch oven: brown the meat, add sauce, broken lasagna noodles, and liquid, then simmer until tender. Less fuss, fewer dishes, and a faster dinner — perfect for busy weeknights.
What makes this recipe even more satisfying is the addition of Vital Proteins Bone Broth Collagen. I like adding collagen to drinks, baked goods, and savory recipes for a nutrition boost, and bone broth collagen blends easily into sauces and broths. It adds protein and minerals while enhancing the dish’s savory depth.
Vital Proteins Bone Broth Collagen comes in beef and chicken varieties. Both are low sodium, MSG-free, and USDA organic. Bone broth is known for supporting digestion, immune health, and overall wellness — a convenient way to add extra nourishment to family meals.
If you prefer a soupier bowl, add more broth and turn this into lasagna soup. Otherwise, follow the one-pot lasagna method for a hearty, pasta-forward stovetop casserole that everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 whole white onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 pinch sea salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp oregano
- 2 scoops Vital Proteins Beef Bone Broth
- 16 oz hot water, (2 cups)
- 16 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 32 oz marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh basil
Instructions
-
Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
-
Add the ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until fully browned, about 15 minutes. Drain excess fat and return the pot to the stove.
-
Season with sea salt, pepper, and oregano to taste; stir for 2–3 minutes to combine.
-
Dissolve 2 scoops of Vital Proteins Beef Bone Broth Collagen in the hot water and pour the broth over the beef. Reduce heat to medium-low.
-
Layer half the broken lasagna noodles into the pot, pour half the marinara over the noodles, and sprinkle with half the cheddar. Repeat with the remaining noodles, marinara, and cheddar.
-
Optionally give the pot a quick stir, then cover and cook for 20 minutes or until the noodles are tender. Top with parmesan and fresh basil before serving.
