One of my fondest childhood memories is the plate of cookies my mom brought home from work each Christmas week. She was a hair stylist, and a generous client would always bring a platter piled high with holiday favorites.
That plate usually included snowball cookies, chocolate crinkles and raspberry thumbprints. If you love classic Christmas cookies, you’ll also adore these cherry chocolate nut cookies — festive, simple to make and easy to share.

Cherry Chocolate Nut Cookies Recipe
Choosing the right cookie to bake for the holidays can be a challenge. Whether you’re bringing treats to a party or packaging cookies as gifts, you want something that tastes great and travels well.
I usually avoid complicated desserts for gifting and opt for recipes that deliver both excellent flavor and easy handling. These cherry chocolate nut cookies fit that description perfectly.

I have a soft spot for maraschino cherries — they always take me back to childhood summers with extra cherries on hot fudge sundaes. In these cookies they add color, a little tartness and a nostalgic flavor that feels like the holidays.
The combination of cherries, chocolate and pecans offers a balanced mix of sweetness, richness and crunch. If you prefer nut-free cookies, you can easily omit the pecans without losing the cookie’s character.

These cookies aren’t overly sweet or too rich — each bite delivers just the right amount of sweetness with a pleasant crunch. They’re the kind of cookie you’ll find yourself reaching for more than one of during the holidays.

Merry Christmas!
