If you’re looking for a fun, kid-friendly Halloween treat, these Halloween Twinkie Mummies are perfect. I love making easy, festive snacks throughout October—surprising the kids after school or tucking something special in their lunchboxes always brings smiles. These mummies are just as simple as the Witch Hat Treats I shared recently and are equally adorable.

Halloween Twinkie Mummies Recipe
I hid a few of these in the back of the fridge thinking I could keep them safe until lunch time — but the kids found them first and were thrilled to have Twinkie Mummies for dessert. Everyone in the family loves Twinkies, and the white chocolate coating with candy eyes makes them extra festive and delicious.

The ingredients are minimal and easy to find. Pick up a box of Twinkies, white melting chips (white chocolate), and candy eyes. If you prefer, you can substitute icing or small candies for the eyes.

Ingredients
16 oz white melting chips (white chocolate)
6 Twinkies
12 candy eye decorations

Directions
- Place Twinkies in the freezer for at least 30 minutes—this helps the coating set more quickly and makes handling easier.
- Line a baking sheet or cutting board with parchment or wax paper.
- Melt the white melting chips: microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until fully melted and smooth.
- Dip each chilled Twinkie in the melted white chocolate and roll so it’s completely coated. Transfer to the prepared paper.
- Press two candy eyes into each Twinkie while the coating is still soft.
- Let them set for 3–4 minutes, then carefully lift each Twinkie off the paper.
- Trim any excess chocolate that ran off the ends with a knife for a neater shape.
- Place remaining melted chocolate into a zip-top bag and snip a small corner to create a piping bag. Drizzle the chocolate back and forth over each Twinkie (avoiding the eyes) to create a bandaged mummy look.
- Allow the drizzle to set completely before serving or packaging.

These Halloween Twinkie Mummies are a delightful, simple treat that work well for an after-school surprise, classroom party, or a spooky dessert at home. They look cute, taste great, and take only a few minutes to assemble once you have your ingredients ready.
