Last year I made these White Chocolate Candy Cane Kisses Cookies and they were a big hit with the family. This year I wanted to recreate them with less sugar, so I swapped the white sugar in the recipe for Truvia® Baking Blend. It was an easy substitution and the cookies turned out just as tasty—my husband even joked he could eat the whole batch in one sitting.

These cookies have a lovely mix of crunchy edges and a chewy center. When served warm, the candy kisses soften and become delightfully gooey.

I decided to use Truvia® Baking Blend to reduce the sugar, following the conversion chart on the package. In general, you use about half the amount compared to regular sugar, which kept the flavor and texture close to the original.

Key facts about Truvia® Baking Blend:

  • Truvia® Baking Blend combines natural sweetener with sugar.
  • It delivers sugar-like taste and texture but with about 75% fewer calories and twice the sweetness of sugar.
  • Baked goods made with the blend keep sugar-like texture and moistness and bake and brown similarly to sugar-based recipes.
  • One 1.5 pound bag of Truvia® Baking Blend equals the sweetness of roughly 3 pounds of sugar (about 7 cups), enough for multiple pies, cookie batches, or brownies.
  • The product is sold nationwide in a 1.5 pound bag with a resealable pour spout.

White Chocolate Candy Cane Kisses Cookies with Truvia®

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Butter Softened
  • 1/4 Cup + 1/8 Cup Truvia® Baking Blend
  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 36 Unwrapped Candy Cane Kisses

Instructions

  • Place softened butter in a large mixer and cream. Add the Truvia® Baking Blend and continue beating until combined. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in the white chocolate chips and mix until a dough forms.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes to make it easier to handle.
  • Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper. Roll dough into teaspoon-sized balls and place them about 2 inches apart. Make a small thumbprint in the center of each ball to hold the kiss after baking.
  • Bake at 375°F for about 10 minutes, or until the cookies are just set. Let them cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes, then press an unwrapped candy cane kiss into the center of each cookie. Allow to cool slightly before serving; if you prefer, let them stay warm so the kisses melt for a gooey finish.
  • Yields about 3 dozen cookies.
