Four-ingredient Pork Tips with Gravy may be my favorite pork recipe yet. Simple, flavorful, and ready in under 30 minutes, this dish is perfect for weeknight dinners. Thanks to Smithfield for sponsoring this recipe.

I’m heading to a painting class tonight — a paint-and-sip with an instructor guiding everyone step-by-step. Even though each person paints the same subject, every finished piece looks different. This will be my third class in a few months. In past sessions I painted a lady in a hat and a weathered wood sign with flowers. Tonight’s project is two black skeleton cats with sugar skull faces — a fun Halloween theme I might leave up year-round if it turns out well.

Because these classes allow wine, it’s a nice moms’ night out with a friend. But first I need to feed the kids, so I plan to make this easy Pork Tips with Gravy before I go.
This recipe is incredibly straightforward. Everything cooks in one skillet: the marinated pork is browned, a bit of flour is added, and then broth is stirred in to make a rich gravy. Serve it with rice or egg noodles and a green vegetable, and dinner’s on the table in about 30 minutes. It’s family-friendly and especially popular with kids.
I use Smithfield marinated fresh pork because it stays tender and is already seasoned, which takes the guesswork out of flavoring the dish.

For this version I used Smithfield Roasted Garlic & Cracked Black Pepper pork tenderloin. If you like peppery gravy, this flavor is ideal. Cut the tenderloin into bite-size pieces, brown in butter, sprinkle with flour, and slowly whisk in broth until a smooth, thick gravy forms. That’s it — four ingredients and a delicious dinner.
A quick note: the cracked black pepper marinade has a bold pepper profile that can be too spicy for some kids. If you’d prefer milder heat, choose another Smithfield marinated flavor such as roasted garlic and herb or steakhouse mushroom; both work beautifully with this method.
Two simple, delicious tweaks to try
The base recipe is quick and tasty, but these two optional additions elevate the gravy if you have a minute more.
- Add 1–2 tablespoons of sour cream at the end for an extra-rich, silky gravy that also mellows the pepper heat.
- Stir in 1–2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce when you add the broth for deeper, savory flavor.

Smithfield marinated tenderloins and sirloins are in the fresh meat section of most grocery stores, usually marked with a black label. They make quick weeknight dinners much easier thanks to the convenient seasoning.

If you’d like another way to use this tenderloin, try a quick soup made with the same cut.
